The Vice President, Claims oversees all aspects of our claims functions, and assures the proper servicing and settlement of all claims incurred by the company.
DUTIES: " Participates in the development and implementation of corporate strategies and operational planning " Develops and implements a claims strategy that includes measurable objectives and action plans " Develops claims standards in accordance with best practices " Ensures claims practices are being audited for compliance and may conduct audits or provide technical assistance as needed " Provides assistance in major claim handling " Keeps informed of new developments in claims activities and competitive practices " Responsible for effectively staffing for departmental needs, including the selection, evaluation and development of associates " Responsible for the development and management of the Claims budget " Maintains relationships with agencies, counterparts and various industry and trade organizations " Serves as Compliance Specialist for the department to identify, monitor, and enforce legal and regulatory compliance issues relevant to the department JOB REQUIREMENTS: " Bachelor's degree required and Master's degree preferred " 10-15 years of multi-line claims experience " Minimum of 5 years managerial experience " Minimum of 3 years of strategic and operational planning experience " Ability to evaluate and develop effective organizational structures and departmental policies and procedures " Excellent written and verbal communication skills " Demonstrated leadership ability " Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels in the organization " Proven ability to select, manage, train and motivate people " Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills " Ability to manage multiple priorities of varying complexities " Visionary " Solid business acumen |
